Patna, Sept. 7: The six Left parties today slammed the BJP-led NDA as also the grand alliance of the JDU, RJD and the Congress.

The six parties did not even commit on any kind of association with Samajwadi Party (SP) or Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Leaders of CPI, CPM, CPI-ML, Forward Bloc, Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) and Revolutionary Socialist Party gathered at one platform to address the Left Parties Cadre Convention at Patna Sri Krishna Memorial Hall.

The parties tried to show their unanimity ahead of the Assembly elections and asked its cadres to remain united to defeat the NDA and the grand alliance, as all the Left parties have decided to contest the election from all the 243 Assembly seats.

CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury said: "People of Bihar would stop Modi's Ashwamedh horse in the Assembly election. The Left parties are the only alternative as people like Narendra Modi, Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad do politics of religion and caste."

He added: "After the Lok Sabha elections, Modi ji used to mock us saying all the Opposition party leaders can travel in a single bus because of their petite number. When the results of the Delhi Assembly elections were out, we told him that his party leaders could travel in an autorickshaw, as they have come down to three. But after the Bihar elections, we will force the BJP to travel in a cycle," said Yechury.

Asked about an alliance with the SP or the NCP, Yechury said: "Talks are on but I doubt we would go for any alliance with anyone because our today's convention aimed at strengthening the Left parties in Bihar."
