The delayed publication of two government advertisements related to jobs in the programme section under East Champaran collectorate came as a rude shock to aspirants.
The advertisements, which appeared on February 25 and 26, in two Hindi dailies after the lapse of the scheduled dates of interviews, were related to the appointment of a training-cum-rehabilitation-officer, an adviser-cum- office-assistant, a project manager and a Grade IV employee.
The advertisement for the first two posts was published in a Hindi daily on February 26 for which the interview was to be held on February 25. The advertisement for the rest of the two posts was published in another Hindi daily on February 25 for which the interview was held on February 20.
The district magistrate of East Champaran published the advertisements. He was not available to comment.
Sheila Kumari, an aspirant on condition of anonymity, alleged that the incident was a plot to benefit those related to the officials concerned.
The district programme officer, Praveen Kumar, said: “The advertisements were given to the newspapers much earlier. We don’t know why they were published so late.”
