Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar wants to hold early Assembly polls in 2018, RJD chief Lalu Prasad claimed on Sunday.
Lalu said that he has come to know from reliable sources that the Prime Minister wants to hold the Lok Sabha elections in 2018 and Nitish will also go for Assembly polls at that time.
"There should not be any confusion that Narendra Modi wants to go for early Lok Sabha poll," Lalu said during his party's national executive committee meet. "I have come to know from reliable sources that it will be held in 2018. Today I want to announce from the land of Sufis and saints that 2018 would mark the political death of Narendra Modi."
Lalu did not clarify who his sources were, but also said that an astrologer had told him that Modi would not complete his term.
"The king of Bihar, Palturam (turncoat) Nitish Kumar, has given his opinion to Narendra Modi," Lalu said. "Nitish - vinash kale viprit buddhi (a person becomes confused before his fall) has given his opinion to hold Assembly poll along with the parliamentary poll in 2018."
He declared that the incumbent JDU and BJP MLAs would all face defeat.
"Lalu Yadav's fight and the RJD's fight is directly with the communal forces and saffron party. The JDU is not even in contest," Lalu said. "The BJP is dreaming that they will return to power. Demonetisation and GST have badly affected the country's economy. All sections are affected."
