Patna: The tenure of Anand Kishor, who took charge as the full-time chairman of Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) in September, was extended up to two years.
On Saturday, the general administration department issued a notification under which Kishor has been appointed as board chairman for three years with retrospective effect from September 25, 2017.
In June 2016, Kishor was given the additional charge of the board after removal of then chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh because of his alleged involvement in the topper scam. According to the BSEB statute, a chairman can remain in the post for three years.
A BSEB officer said: "If you count the tenure of Kishor, he has served as board chairman for two terms. From June 2016 to September 2017 he has acted as chairman of the board serving the remaining term of Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh, who was appointed in 2014. From September 25, 2017, Kishor's fresh tenure started as two years are left for his tenure according to the statute, the general administration issued the notification under which he will act as chairman for the next two years."
On his plans Kishor said: "Technology has been introduced in the board functioning making it more transparent and upright. The functioning of Online Facilitation System for Students will be streamlined and the board will set up an OFSS wing in its office by the end of 2018."
