Patna, July 27: Notre Dame Academy, in collaboration with Parents-Teachers Association, organised a printmaking event for Class I at the school today. Around 240 students from all the four sections learnt printmaking and enjoyed creating colourful prints.
The students were divided into groups of four.
Parents-Teachers Association president Amitabh Pandey said: “Every child is special and the whole idea behind organising such events was discouraging competition and encouraging participation. Every student should take part, which would help them in their future.”
The orientation programme for today’s event was held on Monday and the children were anxious to take part in the various activities. They imbibed qualities of sharing and creativity.
The event witnessed children using vegetables such as ladies’ finger, bitter gourd and natural things like leaves, jute rope and toffee wrappers to make prints.
The students dipped these things in colours and then pasted them on coloured chart papers. The idea was to create gift-wrapping papers with textures, prints and glitters. All the participants would be given certificates within 15 days. The certificates would have the photograph of the group.
The secretary of the association, Shahina Khan, activity co-ordinator Sunita Prakash, cultural co-ordinator Mrinal Sisodia, public relations advisor Leena Lall and others, also attended the event.
