Patna: Rajya Sabha member RCP Singh on Monday joined the ranks of JDU leaders who have targeted leader of Opposition in the Assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav over his proposed Samvidhan Bachao Nyaya Yatra (tour for justice and for saving the Constitution).

" Nyay (justice) is taking place in Ranchi (where Tejashwi's father Lalu Prasad is in jail) and I think he (Tejashwi) should first focus himself over there rather than touring Bihar. How can he think of doing justice to the people of Bihar? Everyone knows what the regime was before 2005. The word of nyay is alien to him," Singh said.

"The word justice is not in the dictionary of RJD. When courts deliver justice, the RJD leaders raise question over the courts as well. He (Tejashwi) is going to beat his chest that such and such is happening with my family. It is but obvious that if anyone loots the treasury money he will have to face jail," he added.

In the first phase of the Nyay Yatra, Tejashiw will tour five districts starting from Katihar on February 10, followed by public meetings in Kishanganj, Purnea, Araria, and Supaul districts on February 11, 12, 13 and 14 respectively.

Senior BJP leader and health minister Mangal Pandey on Monday also termed Tejashwi's yatra as " Bachao Yatra", and said that Tejashwi should first acquaint himself with the 15-year rule of his parents in Bihar in which they amassed illegal property by misusing their position.

RJD national vice-president Shivanand Tiwari attacked the ruling party leaders for mocking Tejashwi's campaign.

"Why so much hue and cry over Tejashwi's yatra? Nitish ji has already announced that Tejashwi is a child and does not even understand the meaning of what he tweets. Even Sushil Modi had said that people have distanced themselves from the RJD after Lalu has gone to jail. If that is the reality, why are these leaders making so much of hue and cry? The fact is that the JDU and the BJP are scared," Tiwari said.

Nitish and Sushil Modi are seasoned politicians and they know very well that Lalu has huge mass support and people have also accepted Tejashwi as his successor, Tiwari said,

"Nitish understands very well that Lalu inside jail is a bigger leader than outside jail. Everyone steals but only the poor people are caught," Tiwari said.
