Industry initiatives for Bihar growth - CII, through fairs, seminars and conferences has provided skill training to youths

Patna, Nov. 28: The Bihar state council of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) today stressed on skill development projects that it had undertaken for youths for a holistic growth of the state.

The body organised a news meet at its state office today to put forward its initiative in the past few years.

The conference was attended by Amit Saraogi, vice-chairman, CII Bihar state council, and managing director, Anmol Poultry Feeds Limited, Subodh Kumar, member, CII Bihar state council and managing director, Rambriksh Foods and Beverages, and S.P. Sinha, former chairman, CII Bihar state council and managing director, Bihar Hotels Limited.

Addressing the meeting, Amit said: “We are here to discuss the initiatives, which CII-Bihar has taken in the past years for the holistic development of the state. As you all know, our main motto is to provide business and livelihood to all, as we believe in inclusive growth. The confederation through fairs, seminars and conferences has been successful in intervening in critical sectors which includes skill development, agro-sector, urbanisation, holding National Development Council meeting and Eastern Regional Council meeting for the first time in Bihar.”

He said: “Skill development has been our major focus. We have conducted mobile repairing training programme in Aurangabad district, where 30 candidates were trained. Other skill development initiative like carpentry, cycle repairing, vermicompost and others were taken in districts like Saharsha, Supaul, Madhubani and Araria to provide livelihood to the people for economic growth”.

He added: “In agriculture, we have organised a five-day exhibition on farm mechanism in March.” He said: “Success of the platforms like City Connect at Bangalore and Chennai, which was taken in respect to urbanisation, has provided a platform to the people’s voice for improving the planning and implementation of projects. In Bihar, we have decided to work in Muzaffarpur for this project. We organised a seminar in Muzaffarpur on November 23 to elaborate on the need of urbanisation, which proved to be of great help to the people.”

“Apart from these, we took initiatives to hold a National Development Council meeting in July for the first time in Bihar to discuss future initiatives of CII and the Bihar government in upgrading the youth by providing them skill training,” he said.

To sum up the meeting, he said: “CII will support the government initiative to boost the agricultural sector through establishing supply chains so that farmers get better price for their products and the consumers can get the best quality.”
