Muzaffarpur, Sept. 27: North Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NBCCI) organised their 53rd annual general meeting recently in Muzaffarpur.

The traders coming under NBCCI and belonging to commercial cities of North Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, East and West Champaran districts, discussed the political situation of Bihar.

Some of the bigwigs of the trading community lauded the efforts and endeavours of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in the state for providing conducive atmosphere for commercial activities. Chairman of NBCCI Motilal Chaparia came out in open support of the NDA and said that it would definitely win the coming Assembly elections.

Chaparia called the traders to side for those political parties, who strive for the well-being and betterment of traders in an obvious references to the NDA rule.

NBCCI, however, stressed the need for providing uninterrupted supply of electricity, improved civic amenities, and better traffic management.

It has prepared a detailed plan to discuss these problems during their meeting with chief minister Nitish Kumar and deputy chief minister Shushil Kumar Modi.

At the meet, former chairman of the NBCCI, Krishna Murari Tikmani spoke about the poor condition of roads and perennial threat of waterlogging on the streets.

He stressed about the measures that need to be taken in flood-prone areas under North Bihar, which have become a stumbling block to development.

“Proper attention of government officials would be sought for solution,” Tikmani said. NBCCI would soon forward a proposal to the state government for setting up food-processing units in Muzaffarpur to boost cultivation of luscious crops of litchi and mango.

Gobind Kumar Kejriwal also a former chairman of North Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industry , asked the traders to remain united and realise the importance of unity and side a particular party.
