| Abid Suhail, a friend of eminent Urdu poet-cum-writer Sohail Azimabadi, attends a book release event on the latter’s birth centenary celebration at Khuda Baksh Oriental Library in Patna on Sunday. A collection of short stories in Urdu, Silsila-e Roz-O Shab, by Shafi Mashhadi was released the occasion. Imtiaz Ahmad, the director of the library, said the archive intends to commemorate three eminent of Urdu authors — Suhail Azimabadi, Majaz and Faiz Ahmad Faiz, who share their birth centenary. “Azimabadi was associated with Progressive Writers’ Movement and he actively worked for Urdu language. He had a style of his own. Sunday’s programme is the first of several events to honour the three authors. The library will shortly publish a collection of works by Suhail Azimabadi,” Imtiaz said.
