Police have launched a manhunt to arrest the Rajnath Sahni gang members, suspected to be involved in the murder of State Bank of India manager Virendra Kumar in Ayachigram.

Senior superintendent of police Jitendra Rana, who reviewed the pace of investigation with other police officers, said a special team had been formed to arrest the killers.

Virendra was shot dead early on Monday night when he tried to foil a loot bid in his under-construction single-storeyed residential house under the jurisdiction of Ahiyapur police station. He was posted in Gopalganj district. A forensic team from Patna went to the spot and collected fingerprints of the criminals who tried to loot some valuables from Virendra’s house.

They also collected samples from bloodstains and recovered empty cartridges.

The members of the Rajnath Sahni gang were released on bail from the Khudiram Bose Central Jail recently. They have been allegedly calling the shots in the crime world.
