Patna, Sept. 16: Green Bihar, Patna, defeated DAV Public School, Allahabad, by 21 runs to lift the 11th All India Randhir Verma SIS Cup at Moin-ul-Haq Stadium today.

DAV had put Green Bihar in to bat after winning the toss and the home team dominated the game from the first over. In the stipulated 20 overs, the team scored 100 runs for the loss of nine wickets.

Pritam Bharti was the top scorer with 33 runs. He was supported by Rajiv, who scored 16 runs.

Although at one stage Green Bihar seemed to be running away with the match, successive wickets of Pritam and Rajiv in the 14th over by Kaman brought the Allahabad team back into the game.

The young bowler was the most successful for his team claiming four wickets for 30 runs in four overs.

As the Allahabad batsmen came out to the crease, the target of 101 runs did not seem improbable. However, the Green Bihar bowlers’ attack never let the visiting team get comfortable.

Dipak Kumar, with his disciplined line and length, wreaked havoc on DAV.

In three overs, Dipak bowled a maiden and gave away only five runs. He scalped three wickets and was adjudged the man of the match.

The top-scoring players for DAV, Allahabad, were Abhishek Kumar with 31 runs and Jitendra with 18 runs. The Allahabad team managed to score only 79 runs in 18 overs.

The annual tournament started on August 28 this year.
