Friday evening at Maurya promises to be a glitzy affair — from catwalks to psychedelic colours, this one has it all. And if style is the soul of the show, can Bollywood be far behind?
The high-voltage fashion extravaganza organised by Signature Premier Natural Mineral Water Fashion Parties, in association with t2, would feature fashion designer Abhishek Dutta’s ensembles. Bollywood beauty Mugdha Godse would be the showstopper for the evening.
Signature Premier fashion parties stand for style and glamour and in keeping with the spirit, leading models from Calcutta would take part.
“The collection is for those who have the courage to wear something noticeable. My collection will showcase mostly western designs. Colours like shocking pink and neon green would be an essential element of the show. The fall-winter and pre-fall collections will grab attention,” said Abhishek.
He added: “The designs have been created for people who want to look fashionable even if they are messed up. Another collection will showcase after-party wear with smoky colours and stagnant look. It’s for ones young at heart.”
“This is a platform for bringing great designs and evolved levels of craftsmanship to the growing style conscious youth of the city,” said Alokesh Banerjee, assistant vice-president, marketing, United Spirits Limited, RPC East and Nepal.
“Signature is clearly young and stylish, representing a lifestyle that is flamboyant and inspirational, where only the bold stand out and others blend in. We want to strengthen our brand connect with consumers,” added Banerjee.
Amrita Lal, a Boring Road resident, believes the show would be a good platform to pick up fashion tips. “I hope to learn the basic dos and don’ts. I am really excited to check out Abhishek’s latest collection,” said a beaming Amrita.
Rakhi Snehil, a National Institute of Fashion Technology student, said: “The collection will showcase neon colours. I am getting goose bumps thinking about the after-party designs. I get confused when it comes to pairing and contrasting colours. I hope to learn a thing or two about hues.”
Prateek, a student of Zakir Hussain College, said: “I will attend the show just to have a glimpse of Mugdha. I have a huge crush on her after watching her in Fashion. ”
