Patna, Oct. 1 (PTI): Agriculture minister Narendra Singh today urged the “good leaders” of the RJD to switch over to the JD(U).

Rivals of the RJD — like the ruling JD(U) — have been projecting a bleak future for Lalu Prasad’s party since the former chief minister was convicted in the notorious fodder scam case in a Ranchi court yesterday. Lalu is, at present, lodged at Birsa Munda Central Jail.

“Good RJD leaders must join the JD(U), which is upholding secularism and working for the uplift of poor and downtrodden,” Singh said today. “The RJD is no more a party... Is there anything left in that party for someone to lead?”

The senior minister, however, refused to comment on the CBI court’s judgment on the RJD chief and 44 others, including another former chief minister of Bihar Jagannath Mishra, in the multi-crore fodder scam case.

“People of Bihar have already rejected the RJD and the party does not have any future,” Singh, a personal friend of the RJD chief from college days, said.

“After Lalu going to jail whatsoever is left (of the RJD) will also be finish,” the minister added.

RJD leaders, however, mocked the invite of their political rival. MP Ram Kripal Yadav said: “Not a single RJD leader will go.”

He added: “The entire party is intact. Rabri Devi is our leader.”
