Patna: Danapur resident Ram Narayan Prasad, 68, who had filed the land-grab case on the basis of which an FIR has been lodged against Union minister Giriraj Singh, has gone into hiding fearing threat to his life.
Giriraj, the BJP MP from Nawada, and 32 others have been named accused in the FIR pertaining to alleged grabbing of over two acres of land at Danapur near Patna.
Giriraj could not be reached for his comments.
Ram Narayan, a resident of Ashopur village in Danapur, had alleged in court that 33 persons had conspired to grab his two acres and 56 decimal of land for sale and purchase. He said that all the accused had helped in illegal sale of a total of 60 decimal of his ancestral land on the basis of forged land rent receipts.
Ram Narayan's son Ramesh Prasad was reluctant to say anything against the accused persons. After much insistence, Ramesh said: "My father is staying somewhere else ever since the FIR was lodged against the Union minister and other accused. He has not visited the house for the last five days fearing attacks."
Ram Narayan's nephew Anil Kumar Verma was more vocal. " Hum jaan dene se bhi nahi hatenge. Har kimat par zameen hasil kar ke rahenge (We will not hesitate to risk our lives. We will take possession of the land at any cost)," Anil told The Telegraph.
