Patna, Feb. 2: The education department, to keep tabs on irregularities in the implementation of government schemes, like uniforms for school students, has decided to distribute funds on fixed dates.
The department officials and the district education officers concerned will supervise the disbursal of funds on the scheduled dates.
Principal secretary, education, Anjani Kumar Singh today said: “The funds to purchase uniforms will be distributed among students from February 20 to 29. The move has been initiated to bring transparency in the implementation of the several schemes sponsored by the Centre and the state government.”
Under the centrally sponsored Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, students of classes I to VIII get money to purchase uniforms. The state government has launched schemes to provide girl students of classes IX to XII Rs 1,000 for uniforms.
Singh also announced the dates for the preliminary and mains examination for admission to Class VI of Simultala Avasiya Vidyalaya.
The preliminary examination will be held on April 15 while the mains will be held on June 3. The last date for filling up forms is March 15.
Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) will organise the entrance tests at Simultala school this year. The CNLU administration has formed a 11-member committee for the purpose.
Singh also said the preparations for organising the world women kabaddi championship (March 1 to 4) is in its final stage.
Singh said: “Sixteen teams have consented to take part in the tournament that will be held at Kankerbagh Indoor Stadium.”
