The plan of an executive lounge at Patna Junction gained steam after a fresh tender was floated last week by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC).
Earlier, investors had refused to take up the project following which the tender was cancelled in March 2013.
The ambitious project, which entails development of a 100-seat lounge offering an array of state-of-the-art facilities.
Requesting anonymity, a senior official of the IRCTC, New Delhi, said: “A fresh tender for an executive lounge at Patna Junction has been floated on October 9. Technical bidding will take place on November 7 following which a scrutiny will be done to select the agency.”
The official added: “It will take at least three months to select the implementing agency. However, the actual construction would start before Holi. It would be a big change for Patna Junction.”
