Patna, Dec. 21: Taking lessons from the past, the district administration has made elaborate security arrangements for Shah Rukh Khan’s visit to the state capital tomorrow to promote his film Don 2.

Fans and admirers would not be allowed to come close to hotel Maurya, where SRK would address the media.

District magistrate (DM) Sanjay Kumar Singh told The Telegraph: “The administration will not take any chance by allowing the public inside the hotel. Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan was scheduled to visit a mall, where no restrictions were imposed on the general public. This being a hotel, no one will be allowed to enter except for hotel guests and the organisers’ invitees. Though the organisers have not made any specific requests, I have asked senior superintendent of police (SSP) Alok Kumar to make elaborate security arrangements for SRK.”

Neither did the DM mention which route SRK’s car would take from the airport to the hotel nor did he divulge details about the security arrangement. But sources in his office said the traffic from Exhibition Road and Gandhi Maidan till the hotel would be restricted. Additional security personnel would be deployed at JP roundabout, from where the traffic would be diverted.

On December 13, SRK fans went berserk at P&M Mall and damaged its property after his trip to the state capital was cancelled. The police had to resort to lathicharge to disperse the crowd. Water canons were also used by the men in uniform.

SSP Alok Kumar said: “We anticipate that girls would gather in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the superstar. So we will deploy women constables to control them. Special care would be taken for girls who may gather near the hotel.”

Sources said Shah Rukh Khan will land at Patna in a chartered flight between 1pm and 2pm and would go to the hotel directly and address the media.
