The state government has reconstituted the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), retaining Anand Kishor as its chairman.

The board was constituted for a period of three years. The seven-member board is led by Kishor.

Its other members include director, secondary school (education department), pro-vice-chancellor of Nalanda Open University, pro-vice-chancellor of Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University, Patna, principal of Government Teachers Training College, Bhagalpur, examination controller of Bihar Public Service Commission and examination controller of Patna University.

The state education department reconstituted the board vide a letter from education department secretary R.L. Chongthu. 'The last time the board was reconstituted when suspended and jailed examination board chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad held the post,' a senior BSEB official said on condition of anonymity. 'The government has decided to retain Anand Kishor as BSEB chairman because of many of his initiatives.'

Kishor was made BSEB chairman in June last year, following mass cheating in board exams in 2015 and surfacing of the topper scam, which had put a question mark on the ability of the board to hold fair exams.
