Driver dies in lock-up

Patna: Driver Suraj Kumar died in police custody after allegedly being thrashed in the Ranitalab police station lock-up in Patna rural on Wednesday night.

The relatives and residents protested in front of the police station on Thursday.

Baby death

Sheikhpura: A newborn baby was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the sadar hospital in Sheikhpura on Thursday as an army of red ants were found on his navel. The infant was born at the hospital on June 20 and shifted to the special care unit since he weighed 1.25kg.

Murder case

Patna: A Sheikhpura court on Thursday awarded life sentence to six people in connection with the abduction and murder of a JDU leader, Sanjit Kumar, in October 2015. The court also imposed a penalty of Rs 17,000 on each.
