The BJP on Monday demanded removal of RJD leader and disaster management minister Chandrashekhar from the council of ministers for his "dog" remark against the CBI.
Undeterred by the demand, Chandrashekhar on Monday said he will not go back from his stand. The RJD leader, while speaking at an event of his party on Sunday, had said: "The BJP used to call the CBI a parrot during the UPA rule at the Centre. Now, it (the CBI) has become a dog."
Terming the statement of the Bihar minister as a sign of mental bankruptcy, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Prem Kumar on Monday said: "Such a statement is not expected from a person who is holding a constitutional post."
"By statements, efforts were being made to demoralise the central agency." Chandrashekhar said he used the word "dog" because of the faithfulness of the CBI towards its political masters at the Centre. "Dog is considered to be one of the most faithful animals. CBI, too, is exhibiting such faithfulness. I stick to my words."
