| Participants at the ADRI-CEPPF-IGC lecture series, ‘Fiscal deficit crisis: New Architect Needs to Fix the Architecture and not the Plumbing’, organised by Asian Development Research Institute (Adri) in Patna on Tuesday. Rathin Roy, director of National Institute of Public Finance & Policy, New Delhi, while addressing the lecture, said India’s combined fiscal deficit must reduce significantly. In order to drive home his point, Roy said there are four important structural changes that have taken place over the past 10 years, which would significantly impact the important aspects of fiscal deficit. He suggested measures such as improving the efficacy of public spending and reducing the share of physical savings. Building construction department secretary Chanchal Kumar and PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bihar chairman Satyajit Kumar were also present.
