The Bhagalpur administration has sought directions from the government about functioning of co-operative societies after a probe team failed to address certain points.
District magistrate Prem Singh Meena on Wednesday sought clarifications from principal secretary, co-operative department, on whether a government employee can become a member of a co-operative society and whether the law permits such societies to conduct banking operations, as they do not have the licence from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) among other issues.
