Patna, June 3: The delay in CBSE Class X result declaration is testing the patience of students who are now more bothered about the result date than the final scores on the marksheet.

Students looking to apply in schools outside Patna are in for more trouble, as they need to produce their mark sheets at the time of admission. Many of them are worried that they might lose the opportunity to get admission in the school of their choice.

On Friday, students kept calling up the school authorities and representatives, enquiring about the result dates. All they got for an answer was “wait for some time”.

The CBSE Class X results have been declared everywhere except Patna region, Guwahati and Bhubaneswar.

A CBSE official at the Delhi office told The Telegraph: “Results of Guwahati and Bhubaneswar regions would be announced on June 4 and for Patna it would be declared next week.”

A total of 92,278 students had registered for the examination from Patna region, which includes Bihar and Jharkhand. Not only guardians and students, even the school authorities are tense about the non-declaration of the results.

S.U. Sorte, the CBSE joint secretary-cum-regional officer, Bihar/Jharkhand said: “The results would be declared by June 10. We are working hard but it has to be done systematically and therefore we are going step by step.”

Sorte, however, was not completely sure of the date for the declaration of the results. Principals of some schools said they were “absolutely clueless” about when the results would be declared.

Prashant Shubham, a student waiting for his Class X result, said: “This delay in result announcement is agonising. Even after the results are declared, it would take some time for us to get our marksheets. After getting admission in Class XI, we will be under a lot of pressure because there would not be much time to complete the syllabus.” The director of a school told The Telegraph after the receipt of the answer sheets from examination centres, the sheets have to be codified, traditionally by college or university professors. This year, the delay was because of a communication gap between CBSE officials and the professors. The director added the answer sheets were lying in Patna office for more than a month. However, students looking to take admission in Class XI in Patna would not face any problems.

The principal of DAV, BSEB Ramanuj Prasad, said: “

We have around 1,000 seats in Class XI. Thus, CBSE students would not face any problems because of the delay in results.”
