Daughter on birthday mission
Rajya Sabha MP and M Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi with chief minister Nitish Kumar and RJD boss Lalu Prasad in Patna on Friday to invite them to the DMK chief's 94th birthday celebrations in Chennai next month. Kanimozhi first met Nitish at 1 Aney Marg for lunch where the chief minister gifted her a small replica of the new Mahatma Gandhi statue in Gandhi Maidan. Next, she went to 10 Circular Road to see Lalu. "I have come here to meet Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad to invite them to the 94th birthday celebrations of my father in Chennai on June 3," she told journalists outside Lalu's residence. She handed the leaders the invitation card on behalf of her brother MK Stalin, the DMK's working president. Lalu said: "I will go to Chennai with a big bouquet, her father has always fought for social justice. It's my privilege that his daughter came to Patna to extend a personal invitation." Rabri Devi was also present when the DMK Rajya Sabha MP met Lalu.
