Patna: Dakbungalow roundabout was the epicentre of the protests on Monday during the all-India bandh against the Supreme Court ruling on the SC/ST Act.

All political parties opposing the ruling gathered at Dakbungalow roundabout and lodged their protest. From 9am onwards, the traffic at Dakbungalow roundabout was blocked from all four sides which goes towards Bailey Road, Exhibition Road, Fraser Road and Station Road.

Only processions of political parties were allowed to enter the stretch going towards Dakbungalow.

Most of the prominent leaders, including Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Jitan Ram Manjhi and Pappu Yadav, gathered at Dakbungalow raising slogans against the Centre.

First it was Madhepura MP Pappu Yadav, the national patron of Jan Adhikar Party Loktantrik (JAPL), who hit the road at 9am raising slogans against the Centre followed by former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and the Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.

Manjhi, along with former minister Brishen Patel, addressed the gathering while standing on the traffic pedestal claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has touched an issue which he was not supposed to.

The members of the Hindustani Awam Morcha Secular (HAMS) were shouting slogans against the Prime Minister and chief minister Nitish Kumar.

Anamika Paswan, the state president of the HAMS women cell, shouted slogans like Narendra Modi, Nitish Kumar ek kaam karo, choori pehen ke dance karo (Narnedra Modi and Nitish Kumar should do one thing, dance wearing bangles).

Manjhi also sat on the road and shouted slogans against the central government. Later, Tejashwi started a march from the Assembly along with 80 MLAs via the Income Tax roundabout and reached Dakbungalow with his elder brother.

Tejashwi completed the march in one-and-a-half hour in the scorching heat. When he reached Dakbungalow, he joined Manjhi who was sitting on a dharna on the road with party members.

Dakbungalow was lined with flags of different political parties and RJD MLAs were shouting slogans against the Narendra Modi government.  Senior leaders Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and Shivanand Tiwari were also present.
