Patna: A potpourri of colour, culture and creativity summed up the concluding day of the Montfort Literary and Cultural Fest at Loyola High School on Sunday.

Host Loyola High School emerged the overall champion after the two-day festival that had elocution, debate, extempore, storytelling, song and dance competitions in store for the participants. St Aloysius School, Ranchi, was named the runner-up at the prize distribution ceremony on Sunday.

Nearly 450 students and 60 teachers from Brothers of St Gabriel Society from Bihar, Jharkhand, Bengal and Odisha participated in the two-day fest. Loyola High School principal Brother Satheesh congratulated all the participants.

Ankit Kumar Sahu from St Joseph's School, Noatoli (Jharkhand), won the Hindi elocution, and Anushka Bharadwaj from Montfort School, Bagaha, won the English elocution competition. The Hindi and English extempore honours went to Md. Rafique from St Aloysius School in Ranchi and Shubhangi Anand from the host school, respectively.

For Hindi storytelling in junior category, Akansha Kumari from St Gabriel's High School, Dhawaiya (Jharkhand) was adjudged the winner. The English storytelling (junior) went to Prakhar Mishra of Loyola High School.

Chief guest of the valedictory function was the provincial superior of Ranchi, Brother Clement. He said: "The school management left no stone unturned in making the fest successful. The principal of the school, Brother Satheesh, has been instrumental in organising the gala fest."
