Similarly, autos and other commercial vehicles coming from west Patna towards east though the Bailey Road flyover will have to take a U-turn near Golf Club to Dumra Chowki.

Private vehicles such as bikes and cars will have to take a turn near IPS Mess Mor moving towards Rajendra Chowk, passing through Karpoori Chowk and New Secretariat.

Patna traffic superintendent of police Prakash Nath Mishra said: "The alternative traffic arrangement has been made for the next three days. We will review the situation as the repair work on the damaged road stretch is going on."

Mishra added that similar traffic arrangements have been made for the commuters coming from the eastern side too.

The route of autos and other commercial vehicles coming from Dakbungalow roundabout have been diverted near Income Tax roundabout. The commuters from Income Tax roundabout can pass through R-Block, Haj Bhavan, Hardinge Road and Patel roundabout, entering Bailey Road near Dumra Chowki.

Harshit Kumar Singh, a Raja Bazaar resident, said: "My shop is on Boring Canal Road. Now, I will have to take a different route passing through Dumra Chowki which will be much more lengthy than the normal route. People with their own vehicles can move passing through lanes of Shastri Nagar but for those dependent on public transport it will be a tough task."

The alternative traffic arrangement will also affect students going to schools and colleges as most school vans and buses take this route.
