Muzaffarpur, March 9: One Ganga Sahni was arrested from the premises of Chhapra court this morning.

The police had received a tip-off about Sahni on Tuesday, which led to his arrest.

Sahni was wanted in several cases of murder and loot, including one case dating back to 2008 in which he allegedly killed three persons of Chaki Suhagpur village under Paroo police station.

Police said Sahni had unleashed a reign of terror in the western Muzaffarpur in the areas of Paroo, Saraiya and Sahebganj.

Police said Sahni had also developed links with members of CPI (Maoist) in recent times. He was providing support to the banned outfit in extending its areas of influence in the district, the police sources told The Telegraph over phone.

The station house officer of Paroo police station, Bindeshwari Prasad, quizzed Sahni about his connections with the banned outfit.

He was later remanded in judicial custody.
