| Women in green saris sang kajari songs, while their children, dressed like peacocks (in picture), added colour to the Hariyali Teej celebrations at the community hall of Bihar State Electricity Board Colony on Friday. Mahila Kalyan Sangathan of Bihar State Electricity Board had organised the celebrations. The members came in bridal ornaments, complete with green bangles and bichiya. Sudha Sinha, the secretary of the organisation, said: “This is the third year we are organising this programme. The members of the organisation attended the celebrations all dressed up. They wore mehndi on their hands. Singing traditional kajari songs is common at this celebration, so, this time also we sang popular kajari songs, including Goriya jhum jhum gaveli kajariya and Pargaye jhule sawan rut aayi re.” Chairperson of the organisation Anukampa Rai and vice-chairperson Rashi Prasad were also present at the celebrations.
