Katihar, Jan. 31: Chief minister Nitish Kumar today inaugurated a government polytechnic college, in the Dheriarahika area of the town, around 300km northeast of Patna.

Nitish said: “We have decided to open a polytechnic college in each district and an engineering college in each division to address the state’s need for technical experts necessary for the state’s development.”

According to sources, the construction of the college was completed in two years.

The sources said students have taken admission in four courses — electrical, mechanical, civil and computer engineering. Classes are expected to start tomorrow.
