Clean bowled by bird tips

Children learnt about sparrow and used their creativity for a social cause. While a few of the students got advice from ornithologist Ali Hussain, others spread awareness on cleanliness.

Event: World Sparrow Day

Special attraction: Renowned bird expert from Bihar, Ali Hussain,interacted with students on World Sparrow Day. Christened "How to save this small bird which has almost vanished", he showed some documentary films on the sparrow. At least 200 kids took part in the event. The kids also participated in a painting competition and enacted a play on the difficulties a sparrow faces and its threat of extinction. A spot was selected on the institution campus where children gave food and water to sparrows flying around. Hussain said: "The aim of marking this day is to emphasise the need to conserve sparrows. These little chirpy creatures are now seen in very few places. The easiest thing you can do is to put a bird feeder and a water bowl outside your home to help them."

Event: Cleanliness drive

Duration: Three hours

Special attraction: The institution celebrated its annual day on the theme of cleanliness. The chief guest of the event was BJP MLA Nitin Navin. Sushant Singh, the director of the school, and principal UshaPandey were present. The show commenced with the NationalAnthem. Next up was a performance by the tiny tots of pre-primary section, where they danced to various songs. The students also put up variouscultural acts. Director Sushant praised the students and said: "The schoo had appointed dedicated teachers to hone the skills of the students. The theme of cleanliness would enrich the minds of the children and help them propagate the message of cleanliness to the masses."
