City banker found dead in Gurgaon

Gurgaon, Oct. 26: A 35-year-old man, originally from Patna, was found dead in Gurgaon today with a bullet wound on his head.

The deceased, identified as Devavrat, was found dead in the driver’s seat of his car parked near his residence in Gurgaon’s Sector 5 area. A murder case has been registered. Deputy commissioner of police (west) Surender Pal said a patrol team found a sedan parked in the area. “His cellphone was switched off. He was shot at from close range but no weapon was recovered from the spot,” he said.

Living in the city since 2000 with his family, Devavrat was a collection officer at a branch of HDFC Bank in Delhi’s ITO area.

Patna SSP Manu Maharaj said: “We are yet to be contacted by Gurgaon police about the case. So, it is difficult to gather information about the man at present.”
