Chhapra, Jan. 10: As JD (U) and BJP workers went on the rampage against district transport officer (DTO), senior district leaders distanced themselves from the controversy.

DTO Ajay Pandey lodged an FIR against the BJP and JD (U) workers on Sunday. Member of JD (U) Rajya Parishad Yashvant Singh today called a news meet to warn if the case against the workers is not withdrawn and DTO Ajay Pandey transferred in a week, the district unit of NDA would launch an agitation. District JD (U) president Dinesh Singh has negated Yashvant’s call saying nobody of that name exists in the district and the unit has nothing to do with the agitation and does not promote criminal activities.

The FIR was lodged after the workers barged into Pandey’s office on Saturday and tried to humiliate him and ransack his office.
