Patna, Nov. 13: Three students from the state capital will showcase their talent in the South Asian finals of Wizkids to be conducted by a multinational company in Bangalore.

Students from four countries — India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal — would participate in the four-day event, starting November 16. Wizkids is a contest which brings out hidden talents in children.

Sources said four Wizkids winners would be then taken to the UN Headquarters, Geneva. The four would also get a cash reward of Rs 4 lakh each.

The three students who would represent Bihar are Suvam Anurag of Loyola High School, Kuhu Krishna of DPS Patna and Nabaneet Ganguli of St Dominic Savio’s High School.

Anurag, a Class XI student, was the most promising speaker, host and best dancer in Don Bosco Academy till Class X. He took the board examination in 2011. At Loyola High School, Anurag is now the class captain and has hosted the Teachers’ Day function. Anurag’s project for Wizkids is based on Right to Education.

“The project emphasises on the students who are deprived of education because of lack of money. We worked in the field for four months and succeeded in sending four students to the government schools, who did not even know the English alphabets four months ago,” he said. Anurag taught all of them regularly.

Kuhu Krishna, a Class IX student of DPS Patna had recently bagged the National Talent Search Examination scholarship.

She also acquired the highest training (up to Class X) in music and painting. Krishna has a knack for writing and believes that following the footprints of Mahatma Gandhi could bring great changes in the society.

She said: “If the principles of Gandhiji are inculcated in the students from childhood, then corruption would go down to a great extent.” The title of her project is “Gandhism: A Way to Corruption Free India”.

Nabaneet Ganguli, a Class XII student, is among the two students in the country and the only one in Bihar whose projects have led them to the event in Bangalore. Ganguli’s project — Clean & Green — aimed at spreading environment-related awareness among 1,000 Patna residents.
