Muzaffarpur, July 20: Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University today organised a daylong camp here to clear pension dues and arrears of the retired teachers. Registrar Vibhas Yadav, the finance officer and the finance advisor participated in the camp besides a host of auditors of the varsity.
Bihar University Teachers’ Association had been demanding immediate payment of the arrears and fixation of pension of retired teachers. It also demanded payment of dues of the working teachers.
Hundreds of teachers had demonstrated outside the office of the vice-chancellor, Rajendra Mishra, on Tuesday.
The VC said the state government had earlier provided Rs 87 crore to the varsity to clear the arrears of the teachers and the pension dues of the retired teachers with a rider of transferring Rs 25 crore to other universities. Following this, Buta created hullabaloo and exerted pressure on the university not to shift Rs 25 crore.
