Gaya: Trainees and trainers of the Officers' Training Academy, Gaya, on Friday joined hands to display valour, adventure and skills, including horse-riding, physical training, gymnastics, micro-light flying, conventional Indian sports like malkhamb, sky-diving and band music, at a 75-minute programme, named multi activity display.
The programme ended with fireworks. Lieutenant-General Satish Dua, the chief of integrated defence staff of the Indian Army, was the chief guest of the programme.
Besides the flying rabbits, horse-riders presented the show-jumping and tent-pegging programme, demonstrating their horse-riding skills and obedience command over the disciplined and well-trained horses.
The combination of jumping and tent-pegging skills also brought out the understanding between the rider and the mount. The cadets also professionally displayed agility and physical strength.
The presentation was made at the Rajyavardhan stadium on the OTA premises. It precedes the 13th Passing-Out Parade scheduled for Saturday morning.
Altogether 71 officers, 40 of them special commissioned officers will be formally inducted in the army at the event.
The remaining 31 officers are technical scheme entrants, who, besides one-year military training pursued a three-year course in military engineering.
