Artist Malvika Raj shows one of her Madhubani paintings at an exhibition organised on the campus of Multimedia Museum in Bodhgaya on Thursday. The topic of the exhibition was Life of Lord Gautam Buddha. This is the first time Buddha’s life is being depicted through Madhubani painting and Tikuli art, said the Patna-based artist. “Usually, the women of Madhubani depict day-to-day incidents that take place in their lives through the art form. But my paintings portray the journey of the Buddha through Madhubani and Tikuli art,” said Raj. The exhibition started on December 31 at the museum adjacent to the office of Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee and will conclude on January 15. Around 50 art lovers visited the museum daily during the Kalchakra Puja that started on January 1 and concluded on January 10. Text by Alok Kumar, picture by Suman |
