Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is gearing up for the 2019 matriculation and Intermediate examinations.
Board chairman Anand Kishor on Friday had a meeting with senior board officials regarding this and he said: "We have started preparing for the next matriculation and Intermediate examination."
During the meeting the chairman asked officials to check use of unfair means during examinations. Kishor issued several other instructions to the officials. It was decided to appoint an additional chief secrecy officer along with a secrecy officer for bar-coding of examination papers.
The board will request the district administrations to provide buildings for bar-coding. Buildings where votes are counted would be taken into account because they are secured than many other buildings in the district.
Instructions were given to officials to make sure bar-coding of examination copies is completed by the next day of examination to curb human intervention.
Come next year, the matriculation and Intermediate answersheets provided to students will be of different colours for both sittings. At present, matriculation and Intermediate examinations are held in two sittings for different subjects, but the answersheets provided to students are of same colour. Also, the two portions of the OMR sheets will be of different colours to check human intervention.
In the meeting it was decided that the board will have a grievance portal for district education officers and district programme officers linked to the BSEB website. The officers can make suggestions or file complaints regarding the two examinations through the portal.
Last year, a day before the test, 42,000 copies of Class 10 examination reportedly went missing from an evaluation centre in Gopalganj.
