Two Kendriya Vidyalaya students were knifed by their schoolmates on campus on Monday, a couple of months after the Muzaffarpur school hit the headlines for an assault on another student.
Brothers Rohit Kumar and Saurav Kumar suffered injuries in the neck and abdomen. Senior police officers said the attack was a fallout of frequent fights between the brothers and two other students, Uttam Kumar and Anuj Kumar.
In August, two students from the school were arrested for allegedly assaulting a fellow student in a classroom after the attack video went viral. On Monday, the school atmosphere was again vitiated with the attack on the brothers, both Class XII students.
Deputy superintendent of police Ashish Anand reached the school with the Kazi Mohammadpur police station house officer. The other students told the police, it is learnt, that Uttam and Anuj were waiting for the brothers with knives.
"Uttam and Anuj would allegedly tease Rohit and Saurav's sister, and this is a result of frequent scuffles among the students," said Anand.
"The police are checking CCTV camera footage. Uttam and Anuj, we were told, attacked Rohit and Saurav with knives as they entered the campus. The brothers tried to save themselves, but Saurav was injured in the abdomen and Rohit on the neck. Uttam and Anuj escaped when the other students raised an alarm."
Residents rushed the brothers to the government sadar hospital for treatment. Civil surgeon Lalita Singh said: "Both wounded students were referred to Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital for further treatment after preliminary medical aid was administered to them."
The deputy superintendent of police said the four students are sons of CRPF constables posted at the Jhapha camp on the town's outskirts.
District magistrate Dharmendra Kumar, who is the chairman of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan that runs the Kendriya Vidyalayas in the district, has taken a serious note of Monday's brawl and has ordered all four students to be rusticated from school.
