Patna: Panic prevailed at Anisabad in Gardanibagh police station area on Wednesday afternoon after some youths fired at a man. Though the bullet didn't hit him, the broad daylight firing incident created tense moments in the area.
Sources said Bablu, who runs Champaran meat (mutton) shop in Anisabad area, was the target. The youth has lodged an FIR against two persons in this connection.
"On Wednesday afternoon I was standing near my shop, when two youths fired at me from behind. I was lucky the bullet missed its target." Bablu said: "When I turned back after the firing incident I noticed two youths running. Two youths entered a house from where they moved to the other side of the road." As news of the firing incident spread, large number of youths assembled at the spot to demand the arrest of those involved in the incident.
"The police have registered a complaint against two men, one also called Bablu and the other Bhim," said an officer of Gardanibagh police station on the condition of anonymity. "The police have recovered a pistol, a county-made pistol (katta), few cartridges and a bike from the spot."
The police claimed they interrogated the mutton shop owner but ruled out the possibility of him having any animosity with the youths who targeted him. The police claimed they are probing the incident from various angles. The Gardanibagh police have conducted raids at different places to trace the youths.
In another development, criminals stole an SUV parked outside an automobile agency on Tuesday night.
