Patna: The 44th State-Level Science, Maths And Environment Exhibition 2016 will be organised in Patna on November 11-12 at the State Council of Educational Research and Training in Mahendru. The exhibition is aimed at popularising science and technology among children.

MCI visit

Muzaffarpur: A three-member team of the Medical Council of India conducted an inspection at Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital in Muzaffarpur on Friday. The team expressed displeasure over lack of teachers and dwindling infrastructure at the college. The inspection was done for enrolment of 100 students in the 2017-18 MBBS courses.

Takshila Utsav

Patna: Takshila Educational Society, the promoter of Delhi Public School (Patna, Ludhiana, Pune and Coimbatore), will organise Takshila Utsav in Patna on November 12 and 13. The meet will include a series of cultural events on the premises of Delhi Public School, Patna (junior wing). Shashwati Mandal Paul, a musician from the Gwalior gharana, and her mother Kamal Mandal will perform on the inaugural day.

Business meet

Patna: A business delegation from Bihar will visit China from November 9-11 on an invitation from the government to attend the Indo-China Cross-border Investment and Trade Summit at Guizhou. The Bihar Entrepreneurs Association will lead the delegation during which memorandums of understanding will be signed on tourism, transfer of technology and knowledge, pharma and agriculture sector.

Maoists attack site

Gaya: A group of 200 Maoists attacked a construction company site at Kharaundha station in Nawada district late on Thursday evening, and torched four vehicles including two SUVs.

The Maoists abducted four persons, which included three contractors named Vinod Yadav, Kailash Yadav and Sanjay Singh, and a driver, Shamshad. They were released after they ensured a payment of 10 per cent of the project cost.

Truck crash

Darbhanga: Three persons were killed on Friday when a truck crashed into a tea shop on the Darbhanga-Samastipur highway near Taralahi. The two injured in the incident are undergoing treatment at DMCH. The deceased have been identified as Juber, Fanet and Nand Kishor Mishra.

Armed loot

Patna: Three unidentified armed criminals looted Rs 10 lakh from a trader named Guddu Prajapati at Dumraon in Buxar district on Friday. Prajapati was on his way to Dumraon railway station, with his brother Manoj Prajapati, to board a train for Patna when the incident occurred.

Bail plea

Gopalganj: Chief judicial magistrate Ram Awadh Prasad on Friday rejected the bail petition of Grahan Pasi - main accused in the Khajurbanni hooch tragedy.

Ganja seized

Patna: Police on Friday seized 50kg ganja worth lakhs, and arrested Chandraket Singh and Deepak Kumar for attempting to transport the substance to Vaishali district.

Celebration

Patna: Mohammad Kari Shoiab, the state president of the RJD's youth wing, announced on Friday that on November 9 - the birthday of deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav - the party will plant 10 lakh saplings across the state in celebration.

Arrest

Gopalganj: Johra Khatun had her husband Jalaluddin Ansari arrested for drinking at Khorahi village on Friday. Superintendent of police Ravi Ranjan Kumar said Johra would be honoured for her bravery.
