Patna: Patna police on Saturday evening arrested Rahul Raj alias Golu Singh, a key member of the Kings of Patna biker gang.

The Kings of Patna is a notorious gang of more than 100 young criminals, mostly college and school students.

The Kadamkuan police on Saturday arrested Golu along with his accomplice Niraj Kumar when the duo had gone to Nala Road to forcefully evict a person from a plot of land.

Kadamkuan police station house officer Ajay Kumar said: "On Saturday evening we received information about a clash between two groups for occupying a piece of land on Nala Road. Kusum Devi and Pawan Singh were claiming ownership of the land that is estimated to be worth crores. When we reached the spot, we found that from both sides a large number of young people were clashing with each other to take possession of the land."

Sources said both the groups had called local criminals, including members of the biker gang, to take sides.

On seeing the police, the goons ran helter skelter.

The police could arrest only Golu and Niraj. The two confessed they were members of Kings of Patna.

An officer with the Kadamkuan police station said: "The arrested duo Golu and Niraj are notorious members of Kings of Patna. A few years back Golu formed the Kings of Patna."

Senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaaj has directed policemen to take quick and strict action against such biker gangs.

The Patna police were shocked after going through the Facebook page of Golu and Niraj.

Golu, son of Pappu Singh a resident of Mainpura in Rajapul, has been an active member of Kings of Patna for the past three years.

The Facebook account of Kings of Patna shows pictures of Golu and Niraj on bikes with more than 100 supporters. The gangs move in threes on each motorcycle and seldom wear helmets.

"Going by the photographs on Facebook we can perceive how strong the biker gang is. The gang has been involved in collecting extortion, eve-teasing, murders, thefts and loots," said the officer.
