Arms gang

Munger: Delhi police arrested Manzar Aalam alias Manji (35), a member of an inter-state arms smuggler gang, from Munger on Wednesday.

The police team had reached Munger based on the information provided by two persons arrested in Delhi for possessing illegal arms.

Check-up

Patna: More than 600 people took part in a health camp organised by RC Ram Hospital on Wednesday. They were examined for ailments like blood pressure and diabetes.

Protest strike

Patna: Health services remained paralysed in Munger sadar hospital owing to the 12-hour strike by hospital employees on Wednesday, who boycotted work to protest against the alleged attack on nurses on Tuesday night.

Marathon

Patna: Students of Chandragupt Institute of Management, Patna, would organise a marathon on December 21 based on the theme of sanitation and cleanliness. The mini marathon will start from Gandhi Maidan and travel to various parts of the city.

Theftprobe

Patna, Dec. 17: Superintendent of police Shivdeep Lande today directed station house officers to investigate the pattern behind vehicle theft in the city after 180 bikes and cars were reported stolen last month.

House officers of 12 police stations have been alerted for most of the thefts have been reported from their areas, including Kankerbagh and Kotwali.

Legal adviser

Patna: Patna Municipal Commissioner Kuldip Narayan on Wednesday appointed Patna High Court senior advocate Y.V. Giri as senior legal adviser to Patna Municipal Corporation. Giri replaced principal additional advocate-general Lalit Kishor.

Patna: BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Wednesday wrote a letter to former chief minister Nitish Kumar raising the issue of changing rules in the appointment of relatives as PA by ministers.
