Murder protest on road
Muzaffarpur: Residents of Shahbazpur village in Muzaffarpur district blocked NH-77 on Sunday to protest the murder of an eight-year-old boy Golu who went missing on August 15.
The body of the boy was recovered from a secluded place in the village on Sunday, said city deputy superintendent of police A.K. Singh.
Arrest
Siwan: One Shailendra Lulha, accused in a loot of Rs 1.25 crore in Saran district last year was arrested on Sunday. The police also recovered two pistols, a country-made pistol, four live cartridges and a live bomb.
Grief
Patna: Traders on Sunday mourned the death of former president of Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries D.P. Lohia (76), who breathed his last at a hospital on Saturday night.
Trio in net
Bettiah: Three Nepalese nationals, active as timber smugglers in Bherihari forest under Val-miki Nagar forest range of the Valmiki Tiger Reserve, were nabbed by the forest security personnel while crossing the Gandak river on boat on Saturday night. They were on way to Nepal with timber worth several lakhs, said forest department sources. Later, all of them were forwarded to judicial custody on Sunday.

Motihari: Around 275 patients suffering from different diseases were examined at a free medical camp. The doctors who visited Kesariya, were led by the former director of IGIMS-Patna, Dr Ajay Kumar Singh.

Motihari: A member of the state Forward Class Commission and former vice-chancellor of BN Mandal University, Madhepura, R.P. Srivastava was felicitated at a function organised at MS College on Sunday.

Patna: The JDU on Sunday took a dig at the selection of members in the BJP team by Amit Shah. The party issued a statement claiming that selection of office bearers indicated that people who were practising communal politics had been given preference.
