Woman, 3 kids commit suicide
Chhapra: A middle-aged woman, along with her three daughters, committed suicide by jumping into river Dabra at Gavandri village under the jurisdiction of Taraiya police station on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Saraswati Devi, Kajal, Khushbu and Soni Kumari. The bodies of the woman and two of her daughters have been fished out. The body of the third daughter could not be found.
Vacant seats spark CM ire
Patna: Sources from the health department on Friday said chief minister Nitish Kumar pulled up the officials of the department for failing to fill around 100 MBBS and PG seats within the stipulated time. According to a Supreme Court order, the admission procedure had to be completed by September 30 . As the counselling for the government medical colleges was started late, many seats could not be filled. Sources said now the health department officials would have to take extension from Supreme Court for filling up the seats.

Patna: Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna has been designated as the co-ordinating agency for Bihar for a study being conducted by the World Bank to assess land governance in 44 countries. Sources said a workshop was organised to discuss the methodological issues related to the study.
