Bovine theft Envoy call IGIMS chief Strike off

Bovine theft

Patna, Feb. 25: Eleven persons were arrested today for allegedly smuggling bovines into the state from Uttar Pradesh.

The police said the men used to pose as buyers and spot the cattle first and then steal them and bring them to different parts of the state by vehicles before selling them off to abattoirs at meagre prices. A total of 13 bovines were recovered from them.

Envoy call

Patna: The ambassador of Netherlands in India, Alphonsus Stoelinga, on Tuesday called on governor D.Y. Patil at Raj Bhavan and expressed the willingness of his country to help Bihar.

IGIMS chief

Patna: N.R. Biswas, the new director of Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, will join his post on Wednesday. Biswas is a professor of the pharmacology department of AIIMS, New Delhi.

Strike off

Mumbai: Cooking gas distributors deferred their indefinite strike after assurance by oil marketing companies to look into their grievances.
