Forensic team probes murder

Gaya: A four-member team of forensic science laboratory, Patna, on Friday arrived at Narayanpur village where 13-year-old Phulo Kumari's body was recovered on Wednesday evening.

The team collected blood samples and other evidences that would help the investigation team constituted to probe the murder of the girl.

Gaya senior superintendent of police Nishant Kumar Tiwary said the post-mortem report and the pathological test have confirmed that the girl was not raped. Police are conducting investigations, he added.

Schemes review meet

Patna: Food and consumer protection minister Shyam Rajak would take part in a review meeting of Phulwarisharif block office on Saturday to assess the work done under different schemes. A press note issued by the minister’s office on Friday said such review meetings would be organised every Saturday.

Blood camp

Patna: Indian Red Cross Society organised a voluntary blood donation camp on Friday. Senior officials and employees of SJVN Thermal Private limited donated blood in the camp, a press note said.

Check-up

Patna: A cancer awareness-cum-check-up camp was organised at the East Central Railway headquarters in Hajipur on Friday. An East Central Railway press note said around 200 officials and employees took part in the camp.

Form sale

Patna: Sale of admission form for admissions to Class XI in Gyan Niketan School has commenced. A school press note on Friday said forms are available on the school premises at Gola Road.

Hostel vacate

Gaya: Most of the illegal occupants of the hostels on Magadh University campus have vacated their rooms owing to the tough stand initiated by vice-chancellor Mohammad Ishtiyaque after some students vandalised the varsity offices.

Graft cases

Patna: The state vigilance bureau on Friday filed chargesheets in two cases of corruption in the special vigilance court. In the first case, the chargesheet was filed against one Samrendra Narayan Jha, who worked as an assistant in the home department and had been caught taking Rs 1,200 bribe on December 9, 2006. The second case pertained to one Anand Kumar Alok, a clerk in Arwal treasury. He had been caught on March 27, 2014 accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000.

Treatment boost

Patna: The Paras HMRI Hospital on Friday started cancer treatment with state-of-the-art linear accelerator and PET-CT scan machine. Dr Shekhar Kumar Kesri, the radiation therapy expert of Paras HMRI Hospital, said now, residents don’t need to go to metro cities for specialised cancer treatment, as the health hub would be able to provide them all the necessary facilities.
