Khatal plan order

Patna: The high court on Monday directed the Patna district magistrate, senior superintendent of police and municipal commissioner to furnish a plan for removal of khatals (cowsheds) from public places in the four circles of the Patna Municipal Corporation.

The division bench also ordered them to submit the plan to the court on August 4.

Murder arrest

Darbhanga: One Sushila Devi was arrested on Monday for allegedly murdering one Ramchandra Chaudhary at Rampur Tola when he tried to outrage the modesty of her daughter.

Foundation

Gaya: Chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Monday laid the foundation stone for the construction of a tourist police station, power sub-station at Vanavar and a police outpost at Bishunganj village in Jehanabad.

Death protest

Ara: Residents on Monday blocked Ara-Patna road for about six hours to protest the death of a 12-year-old boy, Akash Kumar, at Bhakura village in Bhojpur district.

Seizure

Sasaram: Around 13,900 detonators and wires packed in four sacks were seized on Monday from a house at Vasa village in Rohtas district. Rohtas superintendent of police Chandan Prasad Kushwaha said illegal stone quarrying mafia stored the explosives.

RBI event

Patna: The RBI, Patna, and Bank of Baroda organised a programme on Monday to create awareness about the use of mobile and net banking, e-transfers by use of ATM/ debit cards among others.

Embankment

Patna: The high court on Monday while hearing a PIL filed to stop the construction work on the embankment of Jheem in Sitamarhi district, ruled that since Rs 77.15 crore has already been spent on the project, it won’t be appropriate for the court to go for the feasibility of the project.

Directive

Patna: Patna district magistrate Manish Kumar Verma on Monday directed the district officials to fix monthly target of work in their respective offices and ensure to meet the target.

Drugs haul

Patna: Five alleged drug peddlers were arrested and heroine worth Rs 2 crore in the international market was seized during a raid in Rupaspur, Patna, on Monday.
