Patna, Feb. 14: After Manoj Tiwari, it’s Awadesh Mishra’s turn to share the screen with Amitabh Bachchan in a Bhojpuri film, Gangadevi.

Awadesh, who is from Sutihara village in Sitamarhi district, has already appeared in over 100 Bhojpuri films since 2005 when he made his screen debut in Dulhan Aisan Chahi.

“It was my dream to work with Bachchansaab some day. I am delighted to finally get an opportunity to work with him. In fact, he gave his final shot for the film a day ahead he had a surgery last week. Till then, nobody on the set had any idea that he would undergo a surgery the next day. I think he is the only man in the industry who is so dedicated to his work and who will never compromise with work,” said Awadesh.

The film, Gangadevi, is produced by Bachchan’smake-up man, Deepak Sawant, and directed by Abshishek Chadda. Jaya Bachchan has also acted in the film, while Bhojpuri actor, Dinesh Lal Yadav, who is originally from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, plays the lead role. Bachchan will play the role of teacher who aims to reform a criminal, portrayed by Awadesh, in the film.

After Ganga and Gangotri, this would be Amitabh’s third Bhojpuri film and it would hit the screen in May.

“It is the dream of every actor, either in Bollywood or in the Bhojpuri film industry, to work with Bachchan saab. I am lucky to get a chance to work with him,” said the 41-year-old Bhojpuri actor who has been mostly playing negative roles in films.

Sharing the experience of working with BigB, Awadesh said: “Many actors say that they get scared while working with Bachchan saab. But I was quite comfortable doing it. In fact, I had the confidence to prove myself. When I finished the first shot with him, everybody on the set appreciated my performance. Even Bachchan-saab appreciated my acting.”

Some of the film for which Awadesh has won awards are Suhaag (2006), Raja jee (2008) and Devra Bada Satawela (2010).
