Patna: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday left from Patna to Muzaffarpur where he will stay for the major part of his 10-day Bihar visit, holding meetings with farmers and senior RSS officials.

He arrived in Patna on Monday and stayed at the RSS branch at Rajendra Nagar.

The visit and stay have fuelled speculation as Bhagwat will focus on strengthening and expanding the RSS at the grassroots level instead of inaugurating any institution or participating in any religious event like his recent previous visits. He had visited Darbhanga in January to inaugurate a cancer hospital and Bhojpur to attend a religious conclave.

RSS state publicity chief Rajesh Kumar Pandey said Bhagwat "will hold meetings with farmers in Muzaffarpur district. There will be other meetings too with Sangh officials."

Pandey said Bhagwat has only one engagement in Patna towards the end of his visit. He will visit Sanjay Anand Viklang Punarvas Kendra, an institution that the rehabilitates differently-able persons.

A source said Bhagwat would hold a meeting in Muzaffarpur of members of around 35 organisations close to the RSS.

"Among the meetings with farmers, Bhagwat will discuss organic farming, cow rearing and issues related to agriculture and villages," the source added. "Bhagwat's 10-day visit is to plan the blueprint for fanning communal tension," alleged Congress spokesperson Prem Mishra. "What else could be the purpose of such a lengthy visit? If peace and harmony deteriorates, Nitish will be solely responsible."
